An experimental theater based on repetition and chance operations

Developing on the concept of site-specific theater, Yerevan’s Norashen neighbourhood with its relentless repetition and its layers of chance articulation serves as a backdrop for a non-conventional theater based on repetition and the indeterminacy of concrete working methods.

The building comprises three interconnected theater spaces, each with a different set of qualities derived from the site and context. These theaters aim at creating the possibility to expand on conventional theater plays, by creating unique affordances that actors, playwrights and even the audience can exploit in order to create a new, unexpected form of theater.
